The Danish public sector is currently undergoing a major transformation. The sector, while previously an authority and monopoly based structure, is, increasingly, adapting a collaborative and service-oriented approach to implementing its large-scale tasks. The utility sector, too, is in the midst of radical change and a number of public assignments are now being put to public tender. The structuring of public assignments varies significantly from solely involving public authorities to involving local authority co-operations and public-private companies and partnerships. The collaboration between the public and private sectors is intensified. Accordingly, public authorities are increasingly seeking advice on areas which traditionally do not fall within their realm of interest.

Having assisted municipalities and independent institutions and now, in addition, Danish regions on all aspects of the law of relevance to them, we have gained an in-depth and cross-disciplinary insight into the special conditions faced by public sector players.
