Financial sector

Challenges and requirements

The conditions for operating financial and other institutions have changed radically in recent years. Changes on the international scene has resulted in tighter regulation of the sector, both as regards society - in the form of solidity and solvency requirements - and as regards customers - in the form of documentary requirements concerning customer relations and advisory services. The sector is currently undergoing a consolidation process expected to last several years. In light of recent developments, the dialogue with supervisory authorities and the focus on capital raising possibilities have intensified, as have demands for large-scale commitment planning and following up on problematic customer relations. Accordingly, advice is increasingly sought on regulatory and commercial matters.

How we can help

We assist large and small financial institutions in raising capital and meeting regulatory requirements and have assisted with the establishment of finance and security structures in complicated cases. Moreover, we have been involved in numerous acquisition and selling processes. We advise on the planning and implementation of the best possible solutions in complex sale, restructuring or winding up processes. In addition, we have extensive experience in providing consultancy services to foreign financial institutions on Danish financial market conditions and on following up on Danish commitments.

Our advice encompasses, among others:

  • Syndicated loans and other financial planning
  • Restructuring of commitments in default
  • Tax matters
  • Guarantees and collateral security

  • Structured products
  • Derivative transactions
