The Danish Commerce and Companies Agency is now the Danish Business Authority

On 1 January 2012, the Danish Commerce and Companies Agency, the Danish Enterprise and Construction Authority and certain business areas of the National IT and Telecom Agency merged into one new agency. The new agency is called the Danish Business Authority.

The name of the Danish Commerce and Companies Agency often appears in several company documents, including the articles of association.

According to the practice of the Agency, the name "the Danish Commerce and Companies Agency" may be changed into "the Danish Business Authority" without any general meeting being held. Consequently, the articles of association of a limited liability company may be updated with the new name without a resolution to amend the articles of association.  The update may be registered via the Agency's online portal webreg.dk. When registering, a document must be enclosed which briefly describes that the articles of association are updated with the Agency's new name without any general meeting being held.
